Sunrise Wilderness Skills is owned and operated by Matt and Kate Pinkham. We have recently purchased a 35 acre tract of land in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine which is the home-base of our school. We are an Earth-friendly, non-militant survival school, very passionate about teaching in a caretaker way. That is teaching people to take from the Earth in such a way that they also give some back. We offer Outdoor Skills Programs, Plant Classes, and Nature Programs to people of all ages.
Groups of all types (scouting, 4H, schools, clubs, etc.) are encouraged. We can work with you on our site or at yours.

Matt has been teaching outdoor survival and nature programs since 1997. He has taught a whole range of programs for schools, scout groups, summer camps, and survival schools, working with both children and adults. He has spent time training with several outdoor schools such as Tom Brown's Tracker School and The Good Earth School. He is also a graduate of Unity College and the Kamana Naturalist Training Program.

Kate Pinkham has been a naturalist and student of the natural world all her life. She is an accomplished artist and has been teaching outdoor skills with her husband, Matt, for four years. She is especially good with plant identification and uses.
