Dear Senator ________,
Eugene Scalia has expressed the following beliefs:
1. Ergonomics is "quackery".
2. If an employer says it didn't happen; it didn't happen.
3. It doesn't matter what any medical doctor says. If an employer
says an employee is not ill; the employee is not ill.
4. OSHA should not waste money inspecting a business if an employer
says nothing is wrong.
Does that sound like someone who will put his heart and soul into
enforcing current labor laws?
Eugene Scalia would not vigorously enforce labor and employment
laws!
Please vote against his nomination.

Dear Senator ________,
Eugene Scalia has a business-is-always-right-labor-is-always-wrong attitude. If the President Bush wants to destroy the Department of Labor, let him ask Congress to put that to a vote. At least that would be ethical!

Dear Senator Jeffords,
I understand and agree with your ideals that a president should be able to nominate anyone he or she chooses to any position as long as that person is qualified for that position. But I was surprised when you upheld the nomination of Eugene Scalia to be the Solicitor of the Department of Labor because he is not qualified for that position or any position that requires common sense and good judgement. He may know the wording of labor laws but he has demonstrated that his prejudices prevent him from having any understanding of any labor and employment law. He cannot enforce laws that he does not understand. Please consider voting against his nomination when it comes to a vote of the full Senate.
Thank you,

Dear Senator ________,
Eugene Scalia's fundamental beliefs show a man so out of touch with reality that he does not have the ability to enforce labor and employment laws. Enforcing laws requires the ability to listen with an open mind and then weigh the evidence. Someone who starts with the premise that if an employer says that it didn't happen, then it didn't happen and that all employers are qualified medical doctors when it comes to recording employee injuries and illnesses does not have that ability. Someone who believes ergonomics is "junk science" and "quackery" is out of touch with reality. Scalia's shortcomings certainly preclude him from holding any position that requires sound judgment, such as the position of Solicitor for the Department of Labor.
