While the Clerk of the House of Representatives offers "Kids in the House", I'd like to mention kids in the car. I'm not going to mention bad behavior on their part. I'm concerned about the behavior they observe. Children learn to read very early. They know what a stop sign means. They know what a stop light means. They can read a speedometer. Recently a man passed me on a county road. I noticed a little boy in the back seat of his car lean forward to look at the speedometer. Sometimes kids are in your car and they are watching you. If you don't obey the law, what are you teaching your children? I assume my parents always obeyed the law when they filled out their income taxes, but how would I know? I do know how they drove. While many people are judging you by the way you drive, your children may be deciding whether or not they will obey laws when they become adults. Please, be a good citizen and obey the law when you drive!
